Sam Smith, Olly Alexander, Troye Sivan, and now… Luke Evans?

Yep, the Hollywood actor can now officially ranked among the world’s most high profile gay music artists after signing his own record deal.

Evans, 40, announced the news on Wednesday (21 August), sharing a picture of himself in the recording studio as he revealed he’s currently working on his debut studio album.

“Been keeping this under wraps but now it’s out! I’ve signed a record deal and I’ve been in the studio recording my first ever album!” the Fast & Furious star tweeted.

“I’m over the moon!! My first love has always been singing.”

Evans, who proved he can carry a tune in Disney’s 2017 live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast, also confirmed his first studio record won’t consist of numbers from musicals, despite his background in theatre.

“FYI… ITS NOT A SHOW TUNES ALBUM!” he added.

“More info to come in the next few months. Stay tuned!”

While you wait for Mr Evan’s imminent assault on the charts, why not remind yourself of the time he got involved in a group musical number with Taron Egerton and Hugh Jackman on The Jonathan Ross Show, fulfilling several of our gayest fantasies in the process.
