Lady Gaga finds her voice in the first trailer for A Star is Born remake – Watch

Mother Monster steps into the shoes of both Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand

Lady Gaga finds her voice in the first official trailer for A Star is Born remake.

Mother Monster was announced to be taking on the role as Ally in the remake of the classic movie musical – a role previously performed by both Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand.

The film – which also stars and directed by Bradley Cooper – follows seasoned musician Jackson Maine (Cooper) who discovers and falls in love with struggling artist Ally (Gaga).

She has just about given up on her dream to make it big as a singer, until Jackson coaxes her into the spotlight but as her career takes off, the personal side of their relationship begins to break down.

At the same time, Jackson fights an ongoing battle with his own internal demons.

The original A Star Is Born came out way back in 1937, before it was rebooted in 1954 and lead by the legendary Garland (who could forget her heartbreaking rendition of ‘The Man That Got Away’?).

The film’s last remake was in 1976, starring Streisand. Those are some pretty big boots to fill. But if anyone can, it’s Gaga.

A Star is Born is set to hit cinemas this October.
