Lady Gaga drops futuristic ‘Stupid Love’ video teaser – and it’s officially time to get excited

Mother Monster is BACK, baby.

Lady Gaga’s new single ‘Stupid Love’ is now less than 24 hours from being released, and if the music video teaser Mother Monster just shared on social media is anything to go by, it’s time to get very excited indeed.

After experimenting with jazz on 2014’s Cheek to Cheek, donning her cowboy hat forn 2016’s Joanne and bagging an Oscar for her musical contributions to A Star Is Born, Gaga has gone from strength to strength over the last few years – but it’s still hard to believe it’s been more than six years since her last full-blown electro-pop record, ArtPop, was released.

That looks set to change with the release of ‘Stupid Love’, which will arrive at midnight ET (5am GMT) on Friday (28 February) with a video that looks set to showcase Gaga’s strange, futuristic side once more.

The new teaser appears to be set on an alien planet and sees Gaga donning space-age face accessories and the kind of tiny bikini number she was rocking on stage back in the late noughties.

The newly-released publicity artwork also sees the pop superstar donning a metallic shoulder-pads and six-inch hot pink metal talons, in case you were in any doubt that her upcoming sixth album, LG6, was going to skimp on the forward-thinking fashion Gaga’s known for.

The release of ‘Stupid Love’ comes after the single was leaked online last month – and while it’s unknown whether the final version will have changed from what large portions of the internet heard, we do know it’s a thumping electro-pop number that’ll surely be on heavy rotation at your local LGBTQ establishment this weekend.
