Lady Gaga announces Chromatica remix album ‘Dawn of Chromatica’
LGBTQ faves including Rina Sawayama, Pabllo Vittar and Ashnikko have contributed to the record.

Lady Gaga is taking us back to the Planet Chromatica with a turbo-fuelled remix album featuring collaborations with some of our favourite LGBTQ artists.
Dawn of Chromatica: The Remix Album – which is set to drop this Friday 3 September – includes newly-reworked versions of all the tracks from Mother Monster’s chart-topping sixth studio album, released in the summer of 2020.
Executive produced by BloodPop, the record sees queer trendsetters like Rina Sawayama, Pabllo Vittar, Ashnikko and Dorian Electra reinvent ‘Free Woman’, ‘Fun Tonight’ ‘Plastic Doll’ and ‘Replay’ respectively.
Meanwhile, allies Charli XCX and Bree Runway have also contributed to new versions of ‘911’ and ‘Babylon’, having previously confirmed earlier this year that they had been invited to submit material for the record.
Chromatica, which was released in May 2020 after being delayed for six weeks due to the coronavirus pandemic, was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album at the 2021 Grammy Award.
The record spawned Gaga’s first non-movie soundtrack UK Number One single since 2010’s ‘Telephone’ in the form of Ariana Grande collaboration ‘Rain On Me’ – remixed for Dawn of Chromatica by transgender DJ and producer Arca.
Of course, the only question that remains is whether we’ll be getting a Dawn of Chromatica-inspired update of *those* official Chromatica jockstraps…
