Kylie Minogue has reflected on her LGBTQ allyship, admitting she’s had an inclusive mindset when it comes to her queer fans “from the beginning.”

In a recent interview with Years & Years star Olly Alexander, the 53-year-old said of her inclusive attitude: “I didn’t set out to do that, it is just naturally how I feel. There is so much talk about inclusivity, and I felt I always had that from the beginning.”

The former Attitude cover star furthermore added: “I used to say, I loved to be able to look out at my shows, and there are just all walks of life – there has never been any judgement.”

“You didn’t have stylists, you went and did everything yourself”

On moving to London at 21, the ‘Say Something’ singer said: “That is when I got into club culture, and meeting designers – I’d be up and down Kings Road, because you didn’t have stylists, you went and did everything yourself!”

When asked about his own experiences in London, Olly replied: “I moved when I was 18, from my mum’s in the Forest of Dean. I started going out in my early 20s in East London to all the gay clubs that are now closed, but that was my real coming of age.”

Kylie and Olly at The Biltmore Mayfair, LXR Hotels & Resorts ahead of their ‘Secret Socials with Hilton’ performance to 50 unsuspecting fans earlier this month.
