Kate Middleton gives birth to baby girl

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have become parents for a second time.

Kate was admitted to the famous Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital at 6am this morning (May 2).

Kensington Palace announced the news via Twitter, writing: “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a daughter at 8.34am.

The baby weights 8lbs 3oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed.”

It added: “Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”

The little girl, fourth in line to the throne, is a sister to Prince George, born in July 2013.
