The 'Queer Eye' culture expert said they didn't speak for the entire first season

Karamo Brown and Antoni Porowski didn’t speak during the entire season one of the Netflix Queer Eye reboot.

On-screen, the Fab Five – including Karamo, Antoni, Tan France, Bobby Berk and Jonathan Van Ness – seem to be inseparable and all get on together.

However, while speaking to E! Online, Karamo revealed that he and the resident cooking expert did not speak while shooting the entire first season, despite having to be on screen together.

He said: “My castmate from Queer Eye, Antoni, people didn’t know that we had an extreme amount of conflict.

“We did not talk to each other at all during season one, even though we were shooting together.”

The culture expert continued and said that they kept it professional when the cameras were on because it wasn’t about them but once the cameras stopped, they refused to speak to each other.

“On camera, it was always about that person and about creating something successful, so that was genuine,” he continued.

“Before we would go on camera, we would say to each other, ‘This is not about us. It’s about this person.’

“But off camera, the minute that camera stopped rolling, ‘Girl, don’t come near me.’ And vice versa, he didn’t want me to come near him.”

Karamo revealed that despite their personalities getting along, there was a third party which caused the tension

“We were too busy hearing rumours of what this third party was spreading about both of us,” Karamo added.

Luckily, they both realised there was a toxic party and they reconciled over an hour-long conversation.
