Johnny Carter to return to Eastenders this week

By Attitude Magazine

This week will see the return of Johnny Carter to Eastenders, in the form of new actor Ted Reilly.

Reilly is taking over the role popular role as the youngest member of the Carter clan from Sam Strike, who departed the BBC soap at the end of 2014.

Back in 2014, the soap was praised for its portrayal of the character’s powerful coming out storyline with onscreen father Mick, played by Danny Dyer.

In an interview with Digital Spy, Strike explained his reasons for leaving the soap, feeling that the character had “peaked too early”, but expressing his hopes for the character to continue without him.

“I hope they find lots for Johnny to do and give him lots of stories, and the new actor can have the adventure with Johnny that I would’ve liked to have before he became stale.”
