Jennifer Saunders has said the characters of Absolutely Fabulous will “probably” return on a podcast.

Crack open the bolly, people!

Speaking in a new interview with The Times, the creator of the show added that she “misses” the characters and wonders how they’re coping with lockdown.

Forget toilet roll – imagine Patsy clearing the shelves of hard liquor!

“I wonder what they would be like in lockdown”

“I miss the Absolutely Fabulous characters,” Jennifer, 62, told the publication. “I think about them all the time.

“I wonder what they would be like in lockdown, what Patsy would be doing and how she would be kept alive if she couldn’t get out. They will probably come back on a podcast, but not as a movie.”

We’re literally glad to hear it.

Ab Fab, about eccentric PR boss Edina Monsoon and her fashion editor pal Patsy Stone, debuted in 1992. It ran for five series, as well as numerous specials and a 2016 film.

Elsewhere in the interview, Jennifer describes her early career with comedy partner Dawn French of The Vicar of Dibley fame.

“It was very lucky that I met Dawn in college,” she said. “I’d never performed at school, and I would never have done what I do if I hadn’t met someone who made it fun and gave you the confidence to make a fool of yourself. We used to force our flatmates to push back the sofas and we would act out sketches for them.”
