Jamie Campbell doesn’t want a known actor to play him in the Everybody’s Talking About Jamie movie
The drag queen has had a musical made based around his own life

Jamie Campbell doesn’t want a celebrity to play him in the movie adaptation of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie.
Based on a 2011 BBC Three documentary Jamie: Drag Queen at 16, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie premiered at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield in February 2017 before transferring to the Apollo Theatre in London’s West End last November.
The uplifting story – which is based on Jamie’s own life – follows a 16-year-old schoolboy who dreams of becoming a drag queen and features music by The Feeling’s Dan Gillespie-Sells.
And recently it was announced that the musical was set to be made into a movie by Sheffield based production company Warp Films.

But while speaking on Lorraine today (June 26), where he was joined by his mother Margaret, Jamie admitted he’d love to see an unknown actor take the role of the titular character.
He said: “I haven’t really got anyone in mind.”
The TV host then asked if he would want to play the character himself to which he joked: “No, I can’t sing so it would be a completely different story.
“No but honestly, I think it would be nice to discover someone new. The undiscovered star stepping into the spotlight.”
The show is also set to be broadcast live in cinemas across the UK on July 5, and internationally this autumn, so there’s no excuse to get aboard the Everybody’s Talking About Jamie train before the big screen adaptation hits screens.
