‘Imitation Game’ tipped for Oscar after winning Toronto award

The Imitation Game
has been tipped to win the Best Picture Oscar next year, after winning a prestigious award at Toronto International Film Festival.
The Alan Turing biopic took home the People’s Choice Award, which has previously been won by Best Picture winners Slumdog Millionaire, The King’s Speech and 12 Years A Slave.
Benedict Cumberbatch stars as Turing in the film, which also features Keira Knightley, Mark Strong, Matthew Goode, Allen Leech and Rory Kinnear.
The Imitation Game is the English-language debut from director Morten Tyldum, and will be distributed by The Weinstein Company, which has a strong record of securing Oscar nominations and wins.

The Imitation Game will be released on November 14 in the UK and on November 21 in the US.
