Gok Wan is joining Gaydio, the UK’s biggest and the original LGBTQ radio station, for an exclusive special guest mix show starting Friday 3 September.

The celebrity fashion consultant and DJ’s new show, In the Mix, will run for a limited time, between 1800 – 1900pm every week.

During lockdown, Gok Wan entertained many with his Isolation Nation online stream, which showcased his love of house and dance music, combined with his usual style and flair.

“I am so excited”

Gok Wan helps expand Gaydio’s diverse line-up of LGBTQ+ talent, which already includes non-binary stars Shivani Dave, Jacob Edward, as well as Gaydio favourites Neil Sexton & Debbie Ryan or ‘NDebz’.

Marking the announcement Gaydio’s content manager, Kriss Herbert-Noble, says: “I’m so happy that Gok Wan will be showcasing some of his favourite music In The Mix throughout September for us.

“At a time when many festivals and Pride events aren’t going ahead, Gaydio is a home for LGBTQ+ people to connect around a shared love of music”

Gok Wan says: “I have always been a huge fan of Gaydio, even before I was on the decks myself, and I am super excited to bring my music to the station in the company of some of the greatest DJs out there. Let’s party!!”

Known for his fashion design, styling, best-selling books, and as well as being a beloved presenter and television personality, Gok is also a DJ and producer. He first appeared on our screens in 2006 presenting Channel 4’s How To Look Good Naked, winning praise for his sensitive and uplifting approach to makeover TV.

The show ran for seven series and led to numerous other shows including Gok’s Fashion Fix and Gok’s Chinese Takeaway. He was awarded an MBE in 2020 for services to fashion and social awareness.

Gaydio broadcasts on DAB Digital Radio (in Manchester, London, Birmingham, Glasgow, Brighton, Portsmouth) and on FM within Manchester and Brighton. You can also get the service online and through mobile apps and smart speakers.

It reaches more than 535,000 listeners every week across the country, making it one of the biggest media platforms for an LGBT+ audience in the country.
