actor Adam Driver is reportedly on the verge of joining the cast of the new Star Wars films.

Driver – who plays Hannah’s boyfriend Adam on the HBO series – is set to play a Darth Vader type villain in Stars Wars Episode VII, according to Variety.

A deal is expected to be signed in the coming days as Disney have now worked out a way to include Driver without causing scheduling problems with the Lena Dunham series.

At the beginning of the month, Zac Efron confirmed that he was in talks for a role in the new film.

Meanwhile, Michael Fassbender and Hugo Weaving have also been tipped to join the cast, although neither have commented on reports.

Star Wars Episode VII is scheduled for a December 18, 2015 cinema release.
