Sky Atlantic have announced that the Game of Thrones premiere will be broadcast in the UK at the same time as the US.

The first episode of the fourth season is due to air at 9pm on April 6 in the US, and so will be broadcast on Sky Atlantic at 2am on April 7 in the UK.

The opening episode will also be shown on Sky Atlantic at the more friendly time of 9pm on April 7.

The new trailer for the upcoming season was released via the show’s Facebook earlier this month (March), and featured a song by British band London Grammar, called Devil Inside. The preview focuses on Tyrion worrying about what his sister, former-Queen Cersei, is plotting next.

Game of Thrones star Kristian Nairn, who plays Hordor on the hit show, recently revealed he is gay – and has since spoken about the reaction to his decision to come out.

Catch the new season at 2am or 9pm on April 7 on Sky Atlantic.
