Former Eastenders star Marc Elliott joins Holby City as Dominic’s new love interest

By Ben Kelly

Former Eastenders star Marc Elliott is joining the cast of Holby City, and looks set to forge a romance with David Ames’ character Dominic.

Elliott is best known for playing Syed Masood on Albert Square, the gay Muslim character who struggled with his sexuality before eventually marrying John Partridge’s character Christian.

Now, with his beard shaved off, he’s looking in top shape as he takes on a medical role in another BBC soap Holby City, where he’ll play Issac Mayfield.

Described as “charming, confident and twinkly,” the show’s executive producer says the character, “will make a handsome addition to the Keller team and will quickly brighten up Dominic’s life.”

“I am so pleased to be joining the lovely and incredibly welcoming cast of Holby City,” Elliott said in a statement. “And very much looking forward to playing this complex and flawed character.”

Elliott will join Holby City in June for at least six months.
