First picture of Andrew Rannells in ‘Hedwig & the Angry Inch’

The first picture of Andrew Rannells as Hedwig in the Broadway production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch has been released.
The Tony-nominated Girls actor will step into the title role on August 20, taking over from Neil Patrick Harris for an extended eight-week run.
The show, a rock musical about a fictional band fronted by a trans singer from Germany, recently won four awards at this year’s Tonys, including Best Revival of a Musical and a Best Actor trophy for Neil Patrick Harris.

Rannells, also known for starring in short-lived gay-themed US sitcom The New Normal, previously played Hedwig in a 2011 production of the musical in Texas.
