Ellie Goulding on McBusted’s Dougie: ‘He’s my manfriend’

Ellie Goulding discusses her relationship with McBusted’s Dougie Poynter on Alan Carr: Chatty Man tonight (May 23).

The Burn singer and Poynter have been linked to each other since January, having made several public appearances together – but until now neither has spoken about the romance.

Quizzed by Alan Carr on Channel 4 tonight, Goulding shyly confirms that the pair are in fact dating.

“He’s my manfriend,” she admits, before the audience woop. “Boyfriend, traditionally.”

Asked how long they’ve been together, Goulding says: “Umm… well I don’t know. We were sort of friends for quite a long time…” 

“… and it just blossomed,” Carr interrupts.

“He’s a very lovely human being,” Goulding adds later in the interview.

Alan Carr: Chatty Man airs tonight (May 23) on Channel 4, and in addition to Ellie Goulding also features interviews with comedian and actor John Cleese, Mary Portas and Richard Ayoade.
