Ella Henderson has entered the UK’s Official Albums Chart at Number One with her debut LP, Chapter One.

The album, which outsold its nearest rival, Ed Sheeran’s X, by over 16,000 copies, is the second fastest-selling debut album of the year from a female solo artist – behind fellow X Factor contestant Sam Bailey’s Power Of Love.

“To be a part of the music industry as a whole is something I’m learning to embrace, just seeing my name up there with other artists I admire and look up to is so surreal in itself,” the Attitude Music Award winner told OfficialCharts. “Being Number One with my very first album is where a dream has met reality – it’s a moment in time I will never forget.”

Meanwhile, over on the Official Singles Chart, US popstar Meghan Trainor notches up a third week at Number One with All About That Bass. The track, which has managed to sell over 100,000 copies for three weeks running, is now the longest-running Number One of the year from a female artist.

Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off climbs to Number Two this week following her fierce X Factor performance, while One Direction have scored this week’s highest new entry with their new single Steal My Girl, which debuts at Number Three.

Further down the chart, Charli XCX notches up her fourth UK Top 40 hit, with new single Break The Rules landing at Number 35.
