‘EastEnders’: Pauline McLynn to star as Yvonne Cotton
By Sam Rigby

Irish actress Pauline McLynn has joined the cast of EastEnders.
She will appear on screens for the first time next month as Yvonne Cotton, the mother of Charlie Cotton.
McLynn is best known for her previous roles in Father Ted, Jam and Jerusalem and Shameless.
Yvonne will make her Albert Square debut when she comes to visit Dot, who wants answers about her grandson, after making a shocking discovery.
Dominic Treadwell-Collins, Executive Producer of EastEnders, commented: “I have always been a little in love with Pauline McLynn so I’m so excited that she’s joining the Cotton family.
“It was about time Albert Square had another Irish character and I know that viewers are going to both love and be intrigued by Yvonne Cotton.”
McLynn added: “It is a thrill to join EastEnders, my favourite soap, and in particular any chance to be part of a Dot Cotton storyline is not to be passed up – June Brown is a legend and i feel privileged to act with her.”
Declan Bennett joined the cast of the BBC soap in March as Charlie, when he arrived in Walford to inform Dot of bad boy Nick Cotton’s death.
