Drag Race UK’s Ellie Diamond on the mortifying moment with RuPaul that will ‘haunt’ her forever

By Will Stroude

After entering the workroom as the youngest queen in the competition and finishing in the top four, Ellie Diamond has a lot of proud moments to look back on during her time on RuPaul’s Drag Race series two.

But as she joins Attitude and Jodie Harsh for Tea Time in association with TAIMI, the LGBTQ Dating, Chat and Social Network App, the 22-year-old Scottish queen reveals one moment she’s not quite so proud of.

“I farted directly in front of RuPaul!” exclaims Ellie. “It’s one of those things that I wish was caught [on camera], because it would have been so funny.”

Recalling the excruciating incident, Ellie goes on: “[RuPaul’s] cue to leave a room, she’ll go ‘OK, have a good day’ and she’ll clap – and that’s for mic and audio and sound people. That’s RuPaul done.

“Then I was like, ‘cool, she’s done’. [I] turned around, because I was holding in a fart, and I literally went [fart noise]. It was like, wet at the end!

I started laughing because it was a really loud, funny fart, and then Lawrence standing next to me was like, shocked, and I turn back around and RuPaul’s right there – like, right there.

“It just couldn’t have got any worse…”
