Daniel Franzese is already hoping for more Looking movies

By Samuel McManus

There’s still two months until Looking: The Movie finally hits our screens is released and we can all bid a final farewell to Patrick and the gang, but show star but Daniel Franzese is already hoping that more movies will come from the television series in the future.

The former Mean Girls star, who joined the show in its second season as the onscreen love interest of Frankie J. Alvarez’s character Augustin, said that the shooting of the movie finale with his fellow co-stars was “bittersweet”.

“I’m hoping we do another Looking movie in a few years or something,” the 38-year-old told Gay Star News, before admitting that he’d like to see Looking get the Sex and the City treatment, where the cast returned for two feature films after six seasons.

“I would love it. Why not? Maybe I’ll raise the money myself. Who knows? I just really did love my role.”

He added: “We love each other and it was such an unusual gift to get cancelled and still be given this opportunity to revisit the characters one last time and give the fans some closure.”

While the finer points of Looking: The Movie’s plot are thin on the ground, an official synopsis reads: “In the film, Patrick returns to the city for the first time in almost a year to celebrate a momentous event with his old friends. In the process, he must face the unresolved relationships he left behind and make difficult choices about what’s important to him.”

Show star Russell Tovey previously confirmed after his initial read of the script and that “lucky” viewers were in for a treat – while Jonathan Groff recently revealed exactly what sex acts he’s been filming for the finale.

Looking: The Movie airs in the US on July 23 at 10pm on HBO.
