Culture Club cancel reunion tour over Boy George health concerns

Culture Club have been forced to cancel their upcoming reunion tour because frontman Boy George has been struck down with a throat condition.

The much-loved pop group have pulled out of ten dates in the US and 12 dates in the UK so George can undergo medical treatment for a “serious throat condition” that may require surgery.

The tour was scheduled to begin in the US on Saturday (November 15) before arriving in the UK in December.

“I want to be able to perform to the best of my ability and the specialist has told me that right now that will be impossible,” George explained in a statement. “I will focus on getting better and see all my fans soon.”

The rest of the band added: “We are hoping we can reschedule the concerts for next year, and hopefully George’s problem will be resolved.”

Boy George, who received an Icon accolade at this year’s Attitude Awards, recently told us that he hopes Madonna can “forgive him” for the things he has said about her in the past – find out more here.
