Christina Aguilera reveals ‘Stripped’ song was about an ex-boyfriend who came out as gay
The pop icon opened up on 'RuPaul's Drag Race: Untucked'.

Christina Aguilera has revealed that one of the tracks from her hit 2002 album Stripped was inspired by an ex-boyfriend who came out as gay.
The ‘Dirrty’ singer, 37, made the surprising admission as during her appearance as a guest judge on the RuPaul’s Drag Race season 10 premiere last night (March 22).
Appearing on Drag Race aftershow Untucked, Xtina explained that her song ‘Infatuation’ was written about the anguish she endured after a former lover came out as gay.
“It was heartbreaking because I found out he played for your team, not mine,” she told contestants.
While Christina stopped short of naming the man in question, one of the show’s queens, Vanessa Vanjie Mateo, told her: “He’s gonna see this, he’s gonna be mad.”
The remark caused Aguilera to reply: “I hope so girl!”
‘Infatuation’ wasn’t the only track to be inspired by one of of Christina’s exes though: Christina was also quizzed about the meaning behind her 2003 UK Number One Single ‘Fighter’.
Contestant Monique Heart told her: “Girl you read him for the back row. When you said, ‘You tried to take a joy ride and came down in flames’, I said, ‘Oooh, she read him.'”
Christina replied in characteristically fierce fashion “Of course it was! He deserved it.”
The former Disney star also had some advice for the queens competing on Drag Race this season.

“We all have come from some journey. I’m sure we’ve all had a painful place and a struggle or something. And I think that’s really relevant. And that’s a part of my music and a part of where I came from,” she told them.
“Being taking advantage of [by the guy for whom I] created ‘Fighter’, growing up in this business at a young age, you can just imagine being around older men a lot and dishonest people.
“And it’s really hard.”
RuPaul’s Drag Race season 10 continues in the US next Thursday on VH1, and is available to stream in the UK on Netflix now.
