By Josh Haggis

Christina Aguilera has discussed details of her forthcoming sixth album.

In a new interview, the singer said that she’s working with US star Pharrell on the anticipated LP, teasing that there’s “one particular song” she can’t wait to share with everyone.

“During my pregnancy, I had a meeting with him and just connected on where I want to take the next album, and we started talking music, and he has one song in particular that I love,” she told Extra TV.

She went on to talk about the vibe of the record, saying that the sound encompasses how she’s been feeling throughout the past year.

“It’s genuine and it’s heartfelt and I’m very excited to pour my heart out into this record fully, I’ve been gathering and writing and coming up with these amazing ideas for different parts of how I was feeling the past year, so I’m really excited to vocalize all of it and make it all come together.”

Aguilera’s most recent album, 2012’s Lotus, charted at a disappointing number seven in the US and number 28 on the UK’s Official Albums Chart, while lead single Your Body also failed to make an impact on both sides of the Atlantic.

Since making her chart debut in 1999, Aguilera has notched up 17 top ten hits on the UK’s Official Singles Chart including collaborations.
