Cheryl is on course to notch up her fourth Number One on the UK’s Official Singles Chart this Sunday (July 27) with her comeback track Crazy Stupid Love.

The returning X Factor judge and former Girls Aloud singer is in pole position in the midweek chart update – with Crazy Stupid Love currently over 20,000 copies ahead of its nearest challenger, Canadian band Magic!’s debut single Rude.

If Cheryl holds on to the top spot and notches up her fourth Number One, she will match the record for most chart-topping singles by a British female solo recording artist, which is currently shared by Geri Halliwell and Rita Ora.

Fresh from DJing at the Attitude HOT 100 party last Wednesday (July 16), Charli XCX is currently at number three in the midweeks with her new single Boom Clap. Meanwhile, the reigning Number One, Me And My Broken Heart by pop newcomers Rixton, finds itself dropping to number five.

Elsewhere, up-and-coming girlband Neon Jungle are on course for their third top ten hit, sitting at number nine with their bombastic ballad Louder.
