Celebrity Big Brother bosses ‘fear backlash’ over RuPaul’s Drag Race queen

The drag queen legend is expected to enter the house tonight (January 5)

Celebrity Big Brother bosses reportedly “fear backlash” as RuPaul’s Drag Race star Courtney Act is set to enter the house tonight (January 5).

The reality show launched this week and it’s already proven to be controversial.

During the show’s launch, former Daily Mail columnist Katie Hopkins made a series of anti-trans remarks directed at CBB star India Willoughby, who was also slammed this week after she claimed drag queens like RuPaul “cheapen” the transgender cause

Now, producers are fearing backlash as they introduce a number of men to the house including the Drag Race legend, who is expected to clash with Willoughby.

Producers may face further backlash by sending in comedin Dapper Laughs, real name Daniel O’Reilly, who was dropped from ITV2 in 2014 for making anti-woman jokes and claiming one audience members was “gagging for a rape”, Daily Star reports.

Bosses reportedly hope that the male housemates will boost ratings after the show’s all-female house received mixed results.

Other male contestants rumoured to enter the house tonight include Love Island star Jonny Mitchell, The Apprentice’s Andrew Brady and Boyzone’s Shane Lynch.

Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight on Channel 5.
