Calum Scott unveils brand new single ‘Rhythm Inside’

By Will Stroude

Following the incredible success of his stripped-back cover of Robyn’s ‘Dancing On My Own’, Callum Scott has released his first original song, ‘Rhythm Inside’.

Co-written by Calum and produced by Adele collaborator Fraser T Smith, the new single is a departure from the Britain’s Got Talent star’s lovelorn debut single, which has gone one to become one of the 15 biggest-selling songs of 2016.

28-year-old Calum – who opened up about his sexuality in a candid interview with Attitude earlier this year – describes the synth-inflected new track as “hopeful,” explaining how it describes the moment “you meet that special person.”

“I see it as the exciting inner journey you go through – I imagine the blood rushing through your veins, your hair standing on end, and the flutters that you have in your belly,” he says.

“Most people have had that feeling about someone at some point in their lives and it’s nice to be able to write something hopeful.”

Calum is set to play his biggest ever headline show at London’s KOKO on March 14, with a debut album set to follow in spring 2017.

‘Rhythm Inside’ is out now. Give it a listen below:
