Aspiring Republican politician Caitlyn Jenner has slammed talk show host Jimmy Kimmel for calling her “Trump in a wig.”

The row precedes Jenner’s run for Governor of California in November; current Governor Gavin Newsom faces a recall, with Caitlyn throwing her hat in the ring for the position last April.

Now on the campaigning trail, Caitlyn was recently interviewed on The View.

Responding to her interview, Jimmy said on his show Jimmy Kimmel Live! last Thursday: “Caitlyn Jenner has a better chance of being the next Batman than she does governor of California.

“Are we sure that isn’t Donald Trump in a Caitlyn Jenner wig? The resemblance is uncanny.”

Kimmel also refers to Caitlyn by her deadname in his monologue, as well as “Caitlyn Jenner Car-crash-ian.”

“He obviously believes that trans women are simply men with wigs on”

Responding to Kimmel’s comments, reality star Caitlyn said in a tweet: “Last night@jimmykimmel called me Donald Trump with a wig. He obviously believes that trans women are simply men with wigs on. Where is the outrage from the left or LGBT community? Being WOKE must be optional if you are a Democrat.”

One Twitter user responded: “i don’t think he meant it in the way youre taking it but i can see why you’re upset [sic].”

Another said: “Lmfao that’s not what he meant and you know it, and your attempt at feigned indignation is freaking hilarious. If you can’t handle what Kimmel said you don’t have the temperament for this job.”

A third added: “If the target is a Republican the Dems will use any weapon no matter how vile. But the hypocrites would skewer a Republican for saying even partially what J Kimmel said.”

A longtime Republican, Jenner attended former President Donald Trump’s inauguration in 2017.

However, in a 2018 Washington Post op-ed, she said: “Sadly, I was wrong [to support Trump]. The reality is that the trans community is being relentlessly attacked by this president. The leader of our nation has shown no regard for an already marginalized and struggling community. He has ignored our humanity. He has insulted our dignity.”

In a TMZ interview earlier this year, Jenner said: “I oppose biological boys who are trans competing in girls’ sports in school. It just isn’t fair. And we have to protect girls’ sports in our schools.”
