‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ sequel is being ‘heavily discussed’, says director of Queen music videos

Bohemian Rhapsody could get a sequel, says director of a number of classic Queen videos.
After a successful awards season, the hit Queen biopic – which saw leading man Rami Malek win Best Actor in Golden Globes, Academy Awards and BAFTA awards ceremonies – ended with Freddie Mercury and the band’s iconic 1985 Live Aid performance.
Although the film doesn’t show frontman Freddie’s HIV/Aids diagnosis and subsequent death from pneumonia in 1991, Rudi Dolezal – who directed videos for the band – revealed, while in an interview about Queen’s legendary manager Jim Beach, a sequel could be in the works.
He told Page Six: “I’m sure he [Beach] plans a sequel that starts with Live Aid.” Dolezal went on to say that a sequel is now ‘being heavily discussed in the Queen family’.
Dolezal worked on around 30 videos for the band. He worked with Mercury on his final video shoot for ‘These Are the Days of Our Lives’ in 1991, the same year the singer died.
Brian May, Queen’s guitar genius, did hint about a potential sequel back in December where he said: “I think Live Aid is a good point to leave it. Who knows, there might be a sequel.”
Some films just don’t need a sequel.
