In these dark times, Billy Porter has released a powerful new single which the Pose star says is designed to encourage US citizens to register to vote.

Tony and Emmy Award winner Porter, 50, has recorded a cover of Stephen Stills’ classic protest anthem ‘For What It’s Worth’ as the United States gears up for one of the most important presidential elections in modern history this November.

“I decided to record ‘For What It’s Worth’ because I wanted to have my art and my music matter, make a difference”, Porter says.

“I come from the generation where the music reflected what was going on in the world. I wanted to have a hand in bringing that back and speaking truth directly to power.”

Porter’s cover of ‘For What It’s Worth’ – which was originally recorded by Stephen Stills in 1966 and became one of the most well-known protest songs of the counterculture erav – was premiere on Saturiday (25 April) during Joe Biden’s ‘Soul of a Nation’ virtual event.

“Our voices and our votes matter now more than ever”, said Porter. “I’m not going to tell you who to vote for, I just want you to vote. I, personally, will be casting my vote for Joe Biden.”
