Australia invited to take part in Eurovision 2015

By Josh Haggis

Australia is to take part in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, it has been announced.

The country has been invited to perform as the “wildcard” entry to mark the much-loved competition’s 60th anniversary.

Eurovision

Australia, who have until March 16 to choose who will represent them, will battle it out in the semi-final and – should they make it through – the grand final, which is to be held in Vienna this May.

As a one-off contestant, the country wouldn’t be permitted to hold the ceremony in 2016 should they win this year’s competition. Instead, they would be allowed to send a singer to represent them for a second year in a row.

Someone get Kylie on the phone, ASAP.
