Attitude’s Christmas song round-up 2014

By Will Stroude

The presents are wrapped, the sherry’s ready to be cracked open, and we’re rounding up the festive offerings from the world of pop that have attitude.co.uk over the last few weeks.

Has it been a vintage year or are these Christmas tunes total turkeys? Have a listen below and see what you think…

Out of the Blue – All I Want For Christmas Is You

They’re the all-male Oxford a cappella group who shot to fame earlier this year with their cover of Shakira’s Hips Don’t Lie, are back with another diva classic just in time for Christmas, with proceeds going to to the Helen & Douglas House Hospice for Children and Young Adults.

Sam Smith – Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

Making sure his domination of 2014 extended right through December, the incredible Sam Smith capped an amazing year – which saw him become the only artist to sell a million in both the US and UK – with this cover of the Judy Garland classic.

Ariana Grande – Santa Tell Me

The US pop starlet might be hailed as a mini-Mariah, but does her Christmas song live up to the legendary diva’s classics?

Lady Gaga & Tony Bennett – Winter Wonderland

After releasing their jazz album Cheek to Cheek earlier this year, Gaga and Tony Bennett teamed up once again to cover Winter Wonderland during a Christmas concert at New York’s Rockafeller Centre.

The Saturdays – Christmas Wrapping

Frankie, Mollie and co. followed in the footsteps of the Spice Girls this year with a cover of the The Waitresses’ Christmas Wrapping, which featured on the soundtrack for Get Santa.

Little Mix – Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)

It might have been quiet on the Little Mix front recently, but that hasn’t stopped fierce foursome recording an amaxzing a cappella version of Darlene Love’s ’60s hit in time for the big day.

The Vengaboys – Where Did My Christmas Tree Go?

In one of the year/decade’s most unexpected comebacks, Dutch Eurodance group Vengaboys are back with not just one Christmas song but a whole album of them, in the form of The Vengaboys Xmas Party Album!, providing you with your Hi-NRG festive fix – enjoy!
