Ariana Grande has scored her first ever UK Number One single.

The US popstar’s track Problem – which features Aussie rapper Iggy Azalea – debuts at Number One on the Official Singles Chart today (July 6).

This week’s chart is the first ever to take account of online streaming, and Problem notched up a combined total of 113,000 sales including streaming data from sites such as Spotify (and 106,000 sales without).

The track, which is currently at number two in the US, was co-produced by Swedish hit-maker Max Martin, who has previously worked on global smashes such as Britney Spears’ …Baby One More Time and Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream.

“Landing her first Number One on the Official Singles Chart is an incredible achievement and another benchmark in the continued global success of Problem,” said Grande’s manager, Scooter Braun, who also steers the career of Justin Bieber. “Thanks to the loyal UK fans whose incredible support has made this possible. This is your Number One too.”

Elsewhere on the Official Singles Chart, Ella Henderson’s former chart-topper Ghost holds firm at number two, while Sia enters at number six with Chandelier.

Meanwhile, earlier this week 21-year-old Grande debuted her follow-up single to Problem, a dance banger called Break Freeclick here to listen to it.
