Anthony Rapp has got engaged to his partner Ken Ithiphol.

The Star Trek: Discovery and former Attitude cover star has been with his partner since January 2016 and over the weekend, the actor got down on one knee to pop the big question.

Taking to social media, Anthony wrote on Twitter: “So something happened tonight.

“I asked Ken if he would marry me and he said yes. I am so very happy and I’m so very thrilled to share this news.”

The happy couple both reposted Instagram stories from others showing the proposal which took place at a friend’s party in Toronto.

Anthony and Star Trek co-star Wilson Cruz made TV history when they were part of the iconic sci-fi show’s first ever gay kiss.

“We were very much aware that there had never been a male-on-male kiss in Star Trek before.

“We had conversations with the producers, asking if this was going to happen. A few episodes in we asked again, and they replied ‘yes, absolutely'” Anthony told Attitude when he and Wilson were on the cover.

“When it happened it was a good time, it was earned and had a meaningful impact, and it was satisfying. If it had happened earlier, it probably wouldn’t have had the same meaning.

“I appreciated the relationship was revealed in subtle ways, it was part of the fabric of the ship. The trek community has a vibrant LGBT+ segment to it, and people were really gratified that it was presented in a direct, uncomplicated and human way.”
