Amanda Holden has put forward Eurovision champion Conchita Wurst as a potential X Factor judge.

The bearded Austrian drag queen, real name Thomas Neuwirth, has become a major talking point across Europe since she won the annual Song Contest earlier this month – and proved popular when she appeared on The Graham Norton Show recently.

Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole are confirmed to be returning to the judging panel this year, following a three-series absence, but the other two spots on the panel have yet to be filled.

Holden, who works with Cowell on Britain’s Got Talent, tweeted to suggest Wurst as a potential candidate at the end of last week (May 23).

Meanwhile, X Factor mainstay Louis Walsh revealed in April that he’s yet to be asked back by Cowell for the upcoming eleventh series.

Wurst took to the stage at London’s G-A-Y on Saturday night (May 24) for her first UK performance since winning Eurovision – find out more about her appearance at the iconic gay club here.
