Allen on Franco bed selfie: ‘We wanted to blow up Twitter’

Keegan Allen has explained how his notorious “bed selfie” with James Franco came about.

Last month (April) 35-year-old Franco posted a picture of himself and Allen, best known for his role in US teen series Pretty Little Liars, snuggled up in bed together on Instagram – click here to see it.

Predictably, the suggestive snap quickly went viral.

Chatting to E!, Allen said that the “bed selfie” was taken when he went to visit his friend Franco backstage after a performance of the Spring Breakers star’s Broadway play Of Mice and Men.

“I went to go say hey to him in his dressing room,” 24-year-old Allen recalled. “There were a lot of people there and I asked him, ‘What’s the way to do the best selfie in bed?’ and he showed me.”

Allen continued: “Then he climbed in really quickly and he was like, ‘Let’s blow up Twitter for a second’.”
