Drag Race UK’s Dakota Schiffer ‘didn’t care’ that Michelle Visage sent her home

Dakota also condemns Drag Race fans who praise her while tearing down other queens.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK‘s Dakota Schiffer says she “didn’t care” that she was told to sashay away from the competition by Michelle Visage, not RuPaul.

In the latest episode of Drag Race UK, RuPaul could not be present to judge the makeover challenge and runway. Instead, Michelle Visage took over as head judge while Drag Race favourite Raven took Michelle’s seat.

After the queens were challenged to make over the show’s Queen team Dakota landed in the bottom two alongside Pixie Polite.

Speaking to Tia Kofi for Attitude Tea Time Dakota said she wasn’t bothered that Mama Ru wasn’t there (in person) for her elimination.

After describing the judging overall as “wonky,” Dakota says it was one of the first episodes where she thought she wouldn’t be lip-syncing.

“People who are like massive fans of the show have sent messages being like ‘Oh, it’s so sad you didn’t get to hear last words from RuPaul,’ and like, I didn’t care,” says RuPaul.

“I know it sounds really blunt,” she continues. “I wasn’t a Drag Race sycophant before going in so to then have that experience happen to me I’m almost kind of glad because if someone needed that last moment with Rupaul, it wasn’t me.

“I got my RuPaul lovely comments in episode three when they told me I walked the runway like a model and I understood fashion and the construction of my dress was beautiful. I didn’t need to hear a single comment from Rupaul after that.”

Elsewhere she condemns Drag Race fans who offer her praise while tearing down other Drag Race UK queens.

“I just wish people could watch the show and have their opinions. If people want to give me praise, I’m very happy for that. But if that praise comes with negativity for any other queen I’d rather not have it.”

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK continues on BBC Three and the Player every Thursday from 9pm.
