has advised Tom Daley not to compete in countries with anti-gay laws.

The 19-year-old diving star confirmed that he is in a gay relationship in a YouTube video posted earlier this week.

Gaga spoke about Tom and the upcoming Sochi Winter Olympics during her appearance on Alan Carr’s Channel 4 show Chatty Man.

“I don’t think that we should be going to the Olympics at all,” she said of her home nation’s decision to send athletes to Russia for the Olympics.

She continued: “I mean, I would never take anything away from their hard work, I just think it is absolutely wrong for so many countries to send money and economy in the way of a country that doesn’t support gays.

“They pepper spray and beat them in Russia.”

While Daley will not compete in the Winter Olympics, Gaga said that she is excited for those like Daley “to go and to win and rejoice”.

The Born This Way singer said: “It made me very sad to see the pain that some of the gay kids are in in Russia, and for the world to send their finest for the Olympics.

“I can’t, it just feels so wrong and sad. I hate saying that, because I’m so excited for those like Tom Daley to go and to win and to rejoice.”

She added that she doesn’t think she is allowed in Russia any more after screaming “I’m gay, arrest me” on stage in the country in 2012.

You can watch Gaga’s full interview on Chatty Man tonight (December 6) at 10pm on Channel 4.
