Sharon Stone has been named the winner of Attitude’s Ally Award 2014.

The Basic Instinct actress and gay rights supporter received the award for her HIV/AIDS activism and work with amfAR – the Foundation for AIDS Research.

The 56-year-old has worked with the foundation since 1995 advocating efficient AIDS-related public policy, and last year accepted a Nobel Peace Summit Award from the Dalai Lama for her efforts.

Stone was recently cast in the pilot for Agent X, a TV drama in which she will star as Natalie Maccabee, America’s first female Vice President who takes the office after the death of her Senator husband.

Stone accepted her award via a video message shown at tonight’s ceremony at Banqueting House in Whitehall, London, which is being hosted by Scissor Sisters star Ana Matronic.

Sharon Stone has also posed for the latest Attitude – the Awards Issue – and is one of nine special collectible covers. Take a look at her cover below.
