Ella Henderson has won the Breakthrough Artist prize at the Attitude Awards 2014.

The former X Factor contestant, who came sixth on the 2012 series of the reality show, scored her second Top Ten hit on the UK’s Official Singles Chart with Glow yesterday (October 12).

Henderson’s debut single Ghost – which she co-wrote with OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder – hit Number One earlier this year (June) and has gone on to become the sixth biggest-selling track of 2014.

The 19-year-old released her eagerly-anticipated debut album, Chapter One, in the UK today (October 13).

Henderson was presented with her award by Team GB diver Chris Mears at tonight’s ceremony at Banqueting House in Whitehall, London, which is being hosted by Scissor Sisters star Ana Matronic.

The Lincolnshire-born singer recently unveiled a track from her new album entitled Hard Workclick here to give it a listen.
