After taking place in Los Angeles on Saturday night (April 9), the MTV Movie Awards 2016 finally received their UK broadcast last night, giving us our first proper look at some of the delightful sights on display.

The star-studded ceremony, which saw the biggest movies and roles of the year honoured at the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, California, was hosted by Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson – and the former wrestling star quickly slipped back into the spandex for a Batman v Superman skit.

The duo are set to star in upcoming action comedy Central Intelligence later this year, and their irrepressible brand of humour was on display throughout the night as they delivered a show-stopping rap about the some of most memorable film moments of the year – and particularly the moment Leonardo DiCaprio got “f**ked by a bear” during his award-winning turn in The Revenant (for which he picked up the Best Actor Award later in the night).

Bad Neighbours

stars Seth Rogen and Zac Efron also set viewers’ minds racing as they presented Ryan Reynolds with the award for Best Comedic Performance for Deadpool, and Efron got up close and personal with his co-star’s crotch.

Alexander Skarsgård was the night’s real show-stealer though; taking to the stage alongside Samuel L. Jackson in a full tuxedo, sans trousers. The 39-year-old Swedish stud, who’s soon to be seen onscreen in upcoming action adventure The Legend of Tarzan, joked that he’d wanted to go shirtless, but couldn’t after Zac Efron was memorably stripped of his clothing by Rita Ora at the ceremony two years ago.

Despite the fact the audience was probably too transfixed on the sight of Skarsgård’s tighty whities to listen at this point, the pair proceeded to reveal the night’s big winner, present the coveted Movie of the Year Award to the record-smashing Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

You can check out the full list of the night’s winners here.
