Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzine to play enemies-turned lovers in gay rom-com Red, White and Royal Blue

The film based on Casey McQuiston's novel is set to enter production in June.

The gay-romance film, Red, White, and Royal Blue, has cast its leading men – Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzine.

Based on the popular novel by author Casey McQuiston the film will see Perez and Galitzine star respectively as Alex Claremont-Diaz, the son of the current President of the United States, and Prince Henry, a member of the British royal family.

Perez is best known for his role in Netflix’s The Kissing Booth films, while Galitzine has already played a prince on the silver screen, starring in the Camila Cabello-led Cinderella for Amazon.

Alongside the two men, Hollywood legend Uma Thurman has been cast as President Ellen Claremont.

Stephen Fry, Ellie Bamber, Clifton Collins Jr., and more have also been announced to be joining the gay rom-com. 

Red, White, and Royal Blue focuses on Alex and Henry, two enemies who after a public altercation are forced to enter an Instagrammable friendship to cover up their long-running feud. However, after spending time together the pair’s relationship begins to develop into something else…

Tony Award winner Matthew López will direct from his own script, as reported by Deadline

Red, White, and Royal Blue is set to enter production in June and currently has no release date.
