Britney has hit back at her sister, Jamie Lynn, after the younger Spears sister did an interview where she discussed her relationship with Britney, claiming Jamie “never had to work for anything,” which Jamie has refuted.

On Wednesday (12 January) Jamie Lynn appeared in an exclusive interview with Good Morning America in the US as part of the promotion for her upcoming book, Things I Should Have Said. Jamie Lynn said “love is still there” in response to speculation of a rift between the two sisters.

Britney took to Twitter on Thursday (13 January) to vent her frustrations sharing that she had to watch the interview with a fever, and was unable to get any medication. Thankfully, she later shared that her boyfriend, Sam Asghari, had been able to get what she needed.

“Everything was always given to her”

In an iPhone note, Britney writes, somewhat sarcastically, she was glad to have a temperature of around 104 degrees at the time because “I had to surrender to not caring.”

Adding that she’s now fine the ‘Toxic’ singer says her younger sister saying she was “out of control” was just one thing that bothered her. In the book, Jamie Lynn describes Britney’s behaviour pre-conservatorship as “erratic,” “paranoid” and “spiraling”.

Regarding Jamie Lynn’s 2017 performance of Britney’s songs at the Radio Disney Music Awards and her frustration at it Britney says she wrote a lot of her songs and that Jamie Lynn “never had to work for anything,” and that “everything was always given to her.”

She goes on today: “I do remember asking my sister why she did that when she knew I was waiting to change my show and her only words were ‘Well, it wasn’t my idea’…”

Wishing Jamie well with her book (again, we think sarcastically) Britney reveals she “won’t be doing Instagram for a while,” adding, “The media, this business has always been extremely hateful to me. I’ve given enough … MORE than enough.”

She closes by saying she’s “disgusted” with her family who she claims ruined her dreams “100 billion percent”.

Responding to her sister’s claims in an Instagram post, Jamie Lynn addresses her sister directly. She says: “Brit, I am always here, you know behind the scenes I have always been
here. It’s become exhausting when conversations, and texts we have in private don’t match what you post on social media.”

She refutes what her sister posted as “absolutely not the truth, adding that she is having to clarify this “because it’s getting harder for me to rationalize to my oldest daughter why our family continues to get death threats, as a result of their aunt’s vague and accusatory posts”.

This post strikes a determined note when it says: “I may have to set the record straight myself in order to protect mine and my family’s well being.”

“That being said, I hate to burst my sister’s bubble, but my book is not about her,” Jamie goes on before confronting Britney’s claim her sister has never done anything for herself arguing, “I’ve worked hard since before I was even a teenager, and I’ve built my career in spite of just being someone’s little sister.”

Wanting to “close this chapter and move forward” Jamie reiterates that she will always love her sister “no matter what comes”.
