Electropop group La Roux have announced their long-awaited comeback.

The duo – Elly Jackson and Ben Langmaid – premiered a new track called Let Me Down Gently on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show earlier tonight (May 12). It’s the group’s first slice of new material in nearly five years.

The track, which is nearly six minutes long, features a relatively long intro comprising an organ and synthesisers, before dropping into a driving electro beat complete with saxophone solo. Give it a listen below.

Meanwhile, La Roux have announced on their website that they will release their second album Trouble in Paradise on July 7. The album, whose artwork appears in this article, will feature nine tracks including Tropical Chancer and Sexotheque, which they have previously played live.

Fans who pre-order the album now will gain access to an exclusive early pre-sale for tickets to La Roux’s upcoming UK tour. The dates for the tour have yet to be announced, but full show details along with a unique pre-sale access code will be emailed on Friday (May 16) to all fans who have pre-ordered the album.
