George Michael set to beat Kylie to top of albums chart
By Josh Haggis

Kylie Minogue is on course to miss the top spot with her new album, according to the Official Charts Company’s midweek update.
Kiss Me Once currently sits at number two – 8,500 copies behind George Michael’s new album Symphonica.
If Symphonica stays in the top spot, it will become Michael’s seventh UK number one album, including compilation and live LP releases.
Kylie has notched up five UK number one albums over her 27-year recording career, the most recent being 2010’s Aphrodite. The Aussie singer’s new single Into the Blue failed to make the UK top ten on Sunday (March 16), making it her worst-performing lead single since 1997.
Meanwhile, Glee star Lea Michele is set for the top ten with debut album Louder, which is currently at number eight. Kian Egan, whom we recently interviewed, is also set for his first ever solo top ten album, with Home perched at nine in the midweek update.
Further down the chart, Belinda Carlisle’s compilation album The Collection is on course for a top 30 debut, currently sitting at 23. The singer was forced to take to Twitter last month to deny rumours she would be representing the UK at Eurovision this year.
