Dolly Parton confirms Glastonbury 2014 appearance

Dolly Parton has confirmed that she will appear at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.

The singer – who was first rumoured to be on the line-up in December – will perform at Worthy Farm on Sunday, June 29.

She will bring her Blue Smoke World Tour to the annual festival following a string dates across the UK and Ireland in June.

Dolly tweeted: “I’m incredibly excited to FINALLY announce that the #BlueSmokeWorldTour is coming to @GlastoFest on June 29th! 😉 Stay tuned for more info…”

Meanwhile, Glastonbury’s Emily Eavis posted: “We are delighted to say that Dolly is coming to Glastonbury… It really doesn’t get much better than this!”

Following her Glastonbury slot, Dolly will travel to London for two headline shows at The O2.

Dolly’s new album Blue Smoke will be released in the UK on May 12.
