Courtney Love has announced an eight-date UK solo tour for May.

The Hole rocker shared the news on her Facebook page earlier today, writing: “UK, Thanks for your patience! Here we go!!!”

Love embarked on a US solo tour last summer (2013) but hasn’t played live in the UK since Hole’s 2010 dates in support of the Nobody’s Daughter album.

Discussing the crowds who attended her low-key US shows last year, Love told Vanity Fair: “It was a lot of gay guys and a lot of girls. Some women. I think the one straight man [in the audience] was a woman’s husband… I couldn’t quite tell.

“Without a single and without marketing, I’m not drawing on hetero males as a core audience. But thank God for the gays! My homos – they stick by me through thick and thin.”

Love,  49, is currently working on a memoir, which she has named Girl With The Most Cake.

Tickets for all dates go on sale this Thursday (March 6) at 9am.
