Cher has revealed that there will be new costumes for the next leg of her ‘Dressed To Kill Tour’ – and promised they will be “out of control”.

The Grande Dame of gay icons shared the news with her Twitter followers yesterday (June 13), revealing that her favourite costume designer Bob Mackie has been crafting new stage outfits for her.

Mackie has previously worked with Cher on several of her tours, and is responsible for some of her most iconic outfits, including the one pictured in this article.

He also crafted the legendary outfit she wore to the 1988 Oscars to pick up her Best Actress prize for Moonstruck.

Back in February, Cher said she was heartbroken after learning that Mackie wouldn’t have time to create costumes for the initial run of dates on her ‘Dressed To Kill Tour’, tweeting at the time: “I’M SURE BOB CAN’T KNOW HOW MUCH I MISS HIM. I’M CRYING.”

The tour will complete its initial run of dates in July, but last month (May) Cher added a host of new North American dates, which will take place through September and October, and she’ll debut her new Mackie-designed costumes then.

At present, no UK and Ireland dates have been added to the ‘Dressed To Kill Tour’, though the fact its North American run has recently been extended is certainly encouraging.

Meanwhile, Cher turned 68 on last month, so we couldn’t help but compile 25 of her most amazing moments.
