MOSCHINO tv and H&M party brings out the stars in NYC

Queen Naomi Campbell, Amanda Lepore, Aquaria and the Hadid sisters were all part of H&M and Moschino's spectacular collaboration

By Joseph Kocharian

There’s nothing like an H&M collaboration to cause a commotion.

Over the years the high street brand has put on an array of spectacular fashion shows to celebrate their collection with said designers.

Last night, it was the turn of Moschino [TV] H&M.

The fashion show-come-extravaganza was held in NYC and was packed full of Moschino’s Creative Director Jeremy Scott’s celeb friends.

There were plenty on the front row, including Ru Paul Drag race alumni, Aquaria (who also stars in the look book) Marc Jacobs and Amanda Lepore.

His celeb buddies also made their way on to the catwalk with Bella and Gigi Hadid taking to the Times Square and Broadway NYC based musicals themed runway, surrounded by giant technicolour tv’s and skyscraper sets (a nod to the MTV collaboration in the collection).

The (fashion) Queen herself Naomi Campbell closed the show with her infamous strut (with Coco Rocha watching from the Frow (we won’t lie, we wanted to see a ‘Check your lipstick before you come and talk to me’ moment between the two of them)

Jeremy, whether talking eponymous brand, or Moschino, has always been a champion of making fashion as accessible as possible to everyone, so, a collaboration with one of the biggest high street brands is a perfect fit.

Jeremy and H&M’s creative advisor Ann-Sofie Johansson also both spoke about the importance of diversity in fashion, and there was plenty of LGBT+ representation across the board last night, whether we were looking up at a super sized Aquaria on a billboard at the show, decked out in Moschino x H&M’s glittery finest, seeing trans model Teddy Quinlivan on the runway.

There were plenty of social media stars such as couple Pierre Bouvier and Nick Champa having a romantic moment on the red carpet as well as well as LGBT+ models and celebrities in the look book, including Jeremy himself!

The collaboration is brimming with fun and frivolity, and even more sequins. The Moschino [tv] logo is in fact a collaboration with MTV.

The infamous logo from millennial’s childhoods was paired with leopard prints, dungarees, chunky gold chains, stonewash jeans and CD prints to make it feel extra nineties and noughties.

Disney made up the second collaboration, with Disney Mickey Mouse and Donald duck patched and sewn onto hoodies, sweatshirts and football jerseys.

Jeremy told us that when it comes to Disney: “Well obviously Mickey (Mouse)  is my main man, he’s my number one guy, he’s the one I turn to and look up to, Mickey is my everything.”

The collection was a feast for the eyes, with everything from Moschino emblazoned loungewear, to motif caps dripping with gold motifs and chains.

The level of detail means that if you can’t get the full outfit, you can get a super fun accessory-everyone can get a piece of the fun, but whatever you buy, you know that it’s going to be bold.
