The rain won’t stop us- Glasgow Pride

By Darren Mew

Despite the rain and gloomy weather, Glasgow Pride is currently taking place.

Today is Scotland’s biggest Pride parade taking place in Glasgow despite the rainy weather.

The rain, wind and gloom won’t stop celebrators though. Holding up rainbow umbrellas and cheering along the streets the pride celebrations are going strong.

As well as the weather, this years pride celebrations also comes with a speech from Equalities Secretary Angela Constance who will be telling the celebrating LGBTQIA+ people that Scotland “should be proud of the progress we’ve made to tackle LGBTI inequalities but we cannot be complacent.

Together we celebrate the progress we’ve made towards LGBTI equality in recent years, but recognise that there’s more to do before LGBTI people can feel truly equal and welcome in Scotland.”
